How To Reframe Situations – Reframe Game #childsplay

Today I wanted to share with you a quick game I like to play. Game? What are you five (I hear my mind shouting at me)

When is the last time you played? ? #quote #question #life #confidentschool #confidence #business #workfromhome #entrepreneur

It’s called the reframe game.

“If a problem can’t be solved within the frame it was conceived, the solution lies in reframing the problem.” ― Brian McGreevy

This is how you play:

  1. You come across a challenge and at first you see it as overwhelming. You let all those feelings flow through you.
  2. You then walk to the locker room and put all the gear on peace, faith, spirit etc
  3. Then Skate to where the puck is going to be! Have an anticipatory spirit that you focus on.  Keep everything you want to accomplish in the frame – joy, hope, love, kindness, faith etc.

Why bother? Well, my dear Watson, it is elementary, what we focus on becomes our reality! We can control our frame, because life is 10% of what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. Depression, anxiety may be there but my faith will give me focus, it will tell me what to put in the frame.

14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:14-18

So how do we use the frame game in the real world? Here is an example from the whole single mum thing people kept on saying to me, as if it is a reason not to try so hard. When I wasn’t in a relationship I kept on hearing “Ruth-Ellen you’re a single mum…

Your relationship status doesn’t define your self-worth. Let me say it again, your relationship status doesn’t define who you are.

You’re in a season for a reason and whether you are single or not you are where you are, enjoy the journey. The more time we spend concentrating on the present the better.

It’s #uncomfortzonewednesday so when you do describe yourself start saying

I am prosperous
I am blessed
I am abundant
I am beautiful
I am strong
I am worthy
I am enough
I am_________ time for you to fill in the blanks

Don’t get your life so out of focus that it takes a tragedy to change your frame. Fix your eyes on Jesus (even if you haven’t fixed the situation) He can walk on water, have a faith frame.  God didn’t ask you to frame anyone else’s life. Just frame yours, using the frame game!

Here’s to your confidence ✊

Ruth-Ellen xx
