Terms of service
What you’re agreeing to when you use ClearTask. Written in plain language — the legal bits are here too, but we’ve kept it readable.
The short version
Use ClearTask for its intended purpose — clarifying emails, capturing tasks, and managing your commitments. Don’t use it to do anything illegal or harmful.
You’re responsible for your AI costs. ClearTask uses a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model. You pay your AI provider directly and manage your own API key.
You can cancel anytime. Pro subscriptions can be cancelled in one click. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
We do our best, but can’t guarantee perfection. AI-generated summaries and task extractions are helpful tools, not infallible. Always check important details yourself.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Celebrated Not Tolerated Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales. By installing, accessing, or using ClearTask, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
ClearTask is a Chrome browser extension that clarifies email content, suggests acknowledgment replies, and captures tasks. It is distributed via the Chrome Web Store.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not install or use ClearTask.
2. Plans and pricing
ClearTask is available in the following plans:

Prices are in GBP and inclusive of VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice to existing subscribers. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
3. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
The Free and Pro plans require you to provide your own API key from a supported AI provider (currently Anthropic or OpenAI). By using ClearTask with your API key:
🔑 Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your API key. Keep it secure. Do not share it. If you believe your key has been compromised, revoke it immediately via your AI provider’s dashboard.
You are responsible for your AI costs. API usage is billed directly by your AI provider under their terms. ClearTask does not control, cap, or refund AI provider charges.
You agree to your AI provider’s terms. When you use ClearTask to send email content to an AI provider, you are doing so under your account and their terms of service and privacy policy.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Pro subscriptions
Pro is billed monthly (£7) or annually (£70). Payment is processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.
Cancellation
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period.
Refunds
If you’re unhappy with ClearTask Pro, contact us within 14 days of your first payment and we’ll issue a full refund. After this period, refunds are at our discretion.
Access to Work package
The AtW package is a one-time payment for a 3-year licence. It is non-refundable once the licence key has been activated, except where required by law. If your Access to Work claim is rejected, contact us and we’ll work with you on next steps.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use ClearTask only for its intended purpose: clarifying email content, drafting replies, and managing tasks and commitments. You must not:

Use ClearTask for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the extension beyond what is permitted by law.
Use ClearTask to process emails for the purpose of surveillance, harassment, or monitoring others without their knowledge or consent.
Resell, sublicence, or redistribute ClearTask or any licence key without our written permission.
Use automated tools or scripts to exceed the fair use limits of your plan.
Misrepresent your identity or Access to Work eligibility to obtain a subsidised licence.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you are in breach of these Terms.
6. AI-generated content
ClearTask uses AI to generate email summaries, suggested replies, and task extractions. You acknowledge that:

AI output is not guaranteed to be accurate. Summaries may miss nuance, misinterpret tone, or overlook details. Suggested replies are starting points, not final drafts. Always review before sending.
AI output is not professional advice. ClearTask does not provide legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Do not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional judgement.
You are responsible for what you send. If you use a suggested reply, you are responsible for its content once you send it. ClearTask is a drafting tool, not a sender.
7. Intellectual property
Ours
ClearTask, including its code, design, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Celebrated Not Tolerated Ltd. Your use of ClearTask does not transfer any ownership rights to you. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use ClearTask in accordance with these Terms.
Yours
Your emails, tasks, preferences, and any content you create using ClearTask remain yours. We do not claim any ownership or licence over your content. As described in our Privacy Policy, we do not access, store, or process your email content on our servers.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep ClearTask available and up to date, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may:
Update the extension to fix bugs, improve features, or comply with Chrome Web Store policies. Updates are delivered automatically via the Chrome Web Store.
Change or remove features at any time. If we remove a feature that’s core to your subscription, we’ll give you reasonable notice.
Discontinue ClearTask with at least 60 days’ notice to paid subscribers. In this case, we’ll provide a pro-rata refund for any unused subscription time.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:

ClearTask is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or reputation, arising from your use of ClearTask.
Our total liability for any claim related to ClearTask is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for any costs, losses, or issues arising from your use of a third-party AI provider, including but not limited to API charges, data processing by the provider, or service outages on the provider’s end.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Celebrated Not Tolerated Ltd from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of ClearTask, or your use of a third-party AI provider in connection with ClearTask.
11. Termination
By you: You can stop using ClearTask at any time by uninstalling the extension from Chrome. If you have a Pro subscription, cancel it first to avoid further charges.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to ClearTask if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to the service or other users. Where possible, we’ll give you notice and an opportunity to address the issue before termination.
On termination, your licence to use ClearTask ends. Locally stored data is deleted when you remove the extension. Sections of these Terms that should reasonably survive termination (such as liability, indemnification, and intellectual property) will continue to apply.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of ClearTask will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before bringing a formal claim, we encourage you to contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify Pro subscribers by email and update the “Effective” date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of ClearTask after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you don’t agree with the changes, please stop using ClearTask and cancel any active subscription.
14. General
Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Security Overview, form the entire agreement between you and Celebrated Not Tolerated Ltd regarding ClearTask.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
No waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
