Why did I decide to write a post about how to be consistent when I am not consistent.
And here lies the problem.
I am consistent
I consistently go gym
I consistently get up
I consistently make food for my kids
Consistently means something different to different people
And that difference made me totally hate the word consistency
My hate for consistency
Honestly, I used to dislike the phrase ‘be consistent’ or the word ‘consistency; it’s bandied around way too much.
Almost like it’s the secret sauce that can make Kale taste like succulent brown stew chicken.
Which it can’t!
To be clear kale will never be anything close to brown stew chicken.
You’re lucky if Kale taste even 10% like Ghana Kenkey
Yes, the word consistency is dry.
Let me tell you, consistency is as appealing as dry toast that has been pissed on and left over night. I avoided the word because it smelt foul and almost seemed to me that folks were saying put shit content out there as long as it’s consistent.

It’s not the quantity of time you spend on social media it’s the quality.
There is no point implementing a plan that doesn’t lead to your goal.
For example you can’t make SALES without marketing because without marketing you’re invisible. You’ve heard it all before, I hear you. But all this MARKETING you are doing is supposed to do one thing. MARKETING is supposed to start an ideal SALES conversation. Marketing helps your ideal customer to know, like & trust you, if you are doing it right. So measure, measure and measure your marketing efforts because if they are not converting to help your bottom line, then you need to make some changes! Awwww, the term ‘be consistent’ used to get more so stone cold angry!
How do you change your own stance on being consistent?
Well you have to do what I did, do a complete reframe of what being consistent means, you’ve got to change your perspective
So that the phrase consistency works for YOU rather than it working on YOU.
Because I know my distaste for consistency was much smaller than the love I had for achieving my dreams!
I had to step back and think of the passionate hatred I had for the word consistency and how much it was costing me
The cost of not being consistent
My hate for consistency was costing me results I needed in order to find out whether a strategy was effective enough.
My hate for consistency was making my sales funnel longer than needed (losing £££££ per month)
My hate for consistency was messing with my fulfilling my vision and overall purpose
Total cost of consistency = too much
Work out what your lack of consistency is costing you.
I had a revelation…my hate for consistency was like being on a train and getting off too early because it was taking too long to get to my destination.
That was not only illogical but also a complete waste of time.
✋️ Just because the train ? has stopped it doesn’t mean it is your time to get off ?
?Your destination isn’t even located on the map, that is how phenomenal your vision for your future is ?
I also had to acknowledge my feelings and situation and get real. I have a real problem with social media and needed to take stock of what I was really doing with my life!
So lot’s of people have used the word be consistent, but I am the type of learner that likes to go deeper, you can’t just tell me to change my behaviour because it benefits my audience, you have to involve me.

So how do you learn to be consistent when you have ADHD?
Consistency is a skill.
A high performance skill consists of having the right environment, ease and enjoyment in the process to engage a ADHD brain
And in order to learn a skill, you have to be involved in the process
The questioning process is the first step
So here are some questions that will help you learn how to be consistent?

My Answer: Overwhelm from the experts who have conflicting messages about what I should be doing and their opinions on the way I speak, what I speak about and my imperfections

Answer: Create goals?
My immediate response was yeah but I have created goals before
So asked yourself this question what needs to change when it comes to your goal setting technique?
Do you need to create goals that fit in with my behaviour rather than completely change my behaviour?
Second Step of Consistency
Folks, boys, and girls I present DUMB goals, this is the second step
DUMB goals is an acronym and is a concept that I first heard about from Brendon Burchard when I took one of his group coaching program (disclaimer, I like to give props where they are due).
D = Dream
U = Uplifting
M = Method
B = Behaviour
Here is my take on the DUMB goal it is called a D.R.E.A.M.S goal inspired by Brendon
D = Destination – Where are you going, what does that look, feel and sound like?
R = Remarkable – Who will you become after you achieve this goal?
E = Elevation – How will this goal help others?
A = Attitude – Which version of me do I need to show up as?
M = Microwave – What is going to give you instant gratification? How can I am amplify this? If you were to know the steps to get your dish hot in your mind what would they steps consist of?
S= Swinging & Singing – What song will be my anchor to keep going no matter what?

With the power of your personal brand, you have the opportunity to influence your tribes buying decisions through the know like trust factor. It’s a form of attraction marketing and helps to position you as the expert in whatever field you declare you’re an expert in. Personal branding through your messaging, which is essentially your beliefs, values and thoughts helps you to connect with people that want and need to hear your message without them feeling like you violated there space.
So what is a personal brand?
A personal brand is essentially the continuous process of establishing an image or impression in the mind of others about you as an individual, it’s using your personality to connect with others.
Your personal brand is you unapologetically talking about how you went from A to B, so that your ideal client knows what is possible for them
Some people call themselves influencers as a result of this process.
When it comes to your personal brand the struggle is real but the message is more real!
What do you do when you have 10 views on a video ?
Question: Does that make your message any less meaningless?
Heck no ?
It’s not about vanity metrics (numbers) it’s about calling the right people that I you are aiming at to their highest self.

Most of the scholars, musicians were only fully appreciated when they die (don’t worry mum this isn’t a cry for help ?)
For a long time, I forget these words and focused on fear. In fact, fear convinced me that I needed to hide in the background.

See if you notice the fear in your life through my experiences with fear:
My fear convinced me that I needed to be more of an “expert”
My fear convinced me that the way I speak wasn’t good enough and that I needed diction lessons before I had the audacity to speak in front of a crowd
My fear told me that the way I look wasn’t good enough.
Because of my fear I was constantly doubting myself, I was dimming my light
Over thinking.
I was focused on my grammar.
Focused on my diction.
So focused that I forgot about what was important.
So what was important?
My message was important!
Here is the thing…
If you’re talking to the right person then they will grab the right nuggets of information so that you see more participation.
This is regardless if they pick up what you’re putting down…today, tomorrow…or 2 years from now!
Imagine if there was something you wanted so badly that you stopped at nothing to get it?
Could you imagine if you woke up every morning and went to bed every night totally obsessed with making it happen?
Imagine if you didn’t get it?
Would you stop going for it?

Don’t let a little word like false evidence appearing real (F.E.AR) stop you from living a big life.
Don’t give it so much much power that you hate your life so much, that it stops you from what you’ve imagined your life could be
Can my personal brand be an effective way to speak your truth?
Most definitely, personal branding is all about being unapologetic about your desires, because you have the platform to articulate your truth with no apologies.
So how do you have the courage to speak your truth even when it is challenging? Especially when fear is staring at you in the face:

Reclaim your power – People can not take away your power without you giving it away to them, know that you’re good enough regardless

Your personal brand doesn’t start from “The Sales Conversation”
So where does personal brand start? It starts from every touchpoint of your brand.
They may find you on Twitter, Instagram, social media mention, an email, your website, word of mouth etc.
There are many ways for people to find you, you can’t control that part of the attraction journey, however, you can control the experience of the attraction journey.

‼️Never stop speaking YOUR truth, someone is waiting to hear from you. When you have something you believe in state it because people don’t need you to agree with them.
No one like a yes man/woman. ?
People want you to challenge their thinking, which is not talking at them but talking with them. So start to challenge their thinking by giving them a different viewpoint.
Be open to creating dialogue for a two-way conversation, after all, we didn’t come to our version of truth by accident we got there by experiencing life, feeling life and hearing life.
Your message means something, so go out there and spread your personal branding message.

I am not just a mom, I am an advocate of equality, truly believe that no man woman or child born with a learning disability should be born into poverty or social exclusion. However, these things happen and anyone stuck in victim mode needs to look again and realise just because people feed you shit about there own fears it doesn’t mean that you have to eat it. Stop eating shit. I also believe that you deserve more, but you have to not only go out and get it with every breath in your body but you have to consistently and intentionally go and get it. I am also a speaker, a divorcee, a mum who chooses to be single, a 7 figure business development manager, a WordPress developer, a certified trainer, a certified coach, founder of confident school, lingeriestar where truly believe every woman deserves to feel like a star, a burlesque dancer, improv artist, avid movie watcher, dancer, weirdo and there is even more to me that I find out about myself every day so I surprise myself and have always something new to share
2. Find your Malibu & Coke
M&C is my favorite drink (alcohol that is).
It’s my go to.
My friends know what to order me and if everything else is inconsistent, it is never my drink choice, my Malibu and Coke stays consistent. Remember what it that YOU stay consistent about. What you are known for in terms of your values, your truths, And perspectives change and your truth will change. However, your consistent core of who you are and what you stand for is consistent because you should know who you are and what type of legacy you are trying to create. Years ago I wrote my fucking eulogy and I consistently go back to it, what I want others to say about me, what impact I made and my husbands words about me. Come to think of it I don’t want him to remarry so he should die before me, no actually I should. Note to self: get a husband first and then decides who dies
3. Only Entertain Reynolds
You know the people that will up your game!
Reynolds notably championed the idea of a “Deadpool” standalone movie for over a decade before the first feature hit theaters. He first saw the comic strip in 2004, then the first draft of the script was penned five years later. It was finally greenlit years after that and hit theaters in 2016. Be around people that are growth engineers. People that are persistent f*** who don’t give up, who inspires you to be the best version of yourself. I no longer accept people that don’t do that for me. Why? Because life is win win, I shouldn’t be propping you up and dragging myself down, that shit is draining
4. Be clear on your goals & don’t let foolishness take you off track
My diction is an issue for some people. I can’t control whether somebody likes my tone, the way I pronounce things. it comes back to number one apologising for who you are. I was born with an umbilical cord around my neck which stopped me from being able to breathe. I didn’t realise the impact of that until I was in my 30’s but when I did I started public speaking lessons. I have been going to Toastmaster meetings for over 4 years, but here’s the thing the people that I have sold to, have understood me completely.
And I have sold millions, that’s what I have to focus on when someone tries to feed me their shit (back to point 1).
Because for a long time I didn’t go public because of the diction issue, the dyspraxia issue, but I am not a victim and my vision is bigger than my ego and people pleasing doesn’t serve me. So control what you can.
For example:
How many live streams you did you do today?
How many people did you ask to jump on a call?
And how many people you have conversations with?
This is not about whether they take your offer, you can’t control that, you can only control how you show up
5. Repeat what works and get rid of the stuff that doesn’t
My short sightedness my trait of being myopic is not a bad thing. Because looking too far ahead will get you unfocused.
We are constantly told we are stuck and we need to unblock things before we can move forward. If that is the case how come you can move things like a car that is broken down. Yes, it is a bit more effort but it is doable. Stuck doesn’t mean you can whistle while you work

Didn’t you hear we are in the lost decade for productivity
Are we?
Yes our productivity high has now gone, bye bye
It is undeniable that social media has increased the sales buying cycle.
Yeah I said it
Back in the day, you weren’t looked at like a weirdo, accused of being scummy or inauthentic for simply selling.
Can you believe these are the words people use when it comes to the word sales? You would have thought you said you said something outrageous like you don’t like cats.
Back in the day…You simply took action and went over to someone, started a conversation (shock horror). And then you found some synergy and a handshake meant you started your business relationship.
Back in the day…You weren’t thought of as charismatic just because you could talk to anyone (I mean come on people that trait is standard).
Back in the day…You weren’t thought of as bold just because you asked for the sale over the phone (really dude?)
Now we are told to nurture our leads (erm we was always nurturing).
Now we have become people that have gone from being bold enough to ask questions and find out what the deal is, to skirting around the issue and feeling shamed when we finally pluck up the courage to ask for the sale.
Now instead of talking to 100 people a day over the phone about how your solution can help them and pick up on social cues to customise the conversation. We now talk to 1000’s of people about their problems via video with kid gloves and make assumptions about their circumstances almost like we are trying to be their bad friend.
Yes bad friend!
Relationships in sales isn’t about being the bad friend who doesn’t tell them they have food on their mouth from lunch or spinach in their teeth. Real relationships in sales is telling people hey, you have spinach in your teeth now let’s do something about it, unapologetically.
Sales are simple, it’s built on the foundation of relationships, information gathering and providing customised value, but somehow some of us have allowed the new tools to mess with our process. And our processes have a knock on effect on our results.
To be clear: If we are not being productive than our sales will suffer!
Let me back up my thoughts with actual facts, according to the latest article in the financial times
The productivity of Britain’s workers, measured by their output per hour, fell 0.1 per cent in the second quarter after a 0.5 per cent fall in the first. Workers are slightly less productive than they were in 2007, confirming a so-called “lost decade” for productivity.
Economists do not fully understand why Britain’s productivity growth has faltered since the financial crisis. Other countries have also suffered a slowdown, but the problem has been particularly acute in the UK, where workers are about 23 and 27 per cent less productive than their French and German counterparts, respectively.
Now I am not here to trump economists (after all I only studied in for a year at Brunel University). But the stats probably don’t even begin to dive deep into the stats for people that work from home, MLM, self-employed, teams that have no structure…I could go on but I think you know the picture I am painting on the canvas.
So what can be done to keep your productivity high?
1. Start Taking Inspired Action to Keep Productivity High
Inaction leads to fewer results, Our need to be seen as perfect by our peers has led to more inaction than ever. Similarly, people offering their unwanted feedback in an unconstructive way has led to people feeling judged for having an original thought.
We have grammar Pokemon’s (except we don’t choose you) all over “professional” social media platforms, causing people to second guess themselves and stopping people from showing up and taking imperfect action. Forgetting that being imperfect is what connects us as human beings. Imperfect action trumps perfect inaction.
Sidenote: It’s time to stand up for yourself: I refuse to apologise for my grammar! After all, I was not born with a pen in my hand (not only would that have popped a vessel or two in my mother’s womb but it would have also been also stop me from being creative).

Is there a correlation between social media increase and productivity decrease?
More than likely.
Am I advocating ditching all your social media activities, erm no!
Just use it wisely, for those that like to take action my challenge to you is this:
Use social media in conjunction WITH your work to be productive

4. Stop Boring Meetings To Keep Productivity High
Haha, I am laughing because I can tell you’re saying your meetings are not boring (get lost Ruth-Ellen). That’s like me saying I am funny (I know I am not), I accept it now.
The sooner you admit you have boring meetings the sooner we can all stop pretending.
Here is the thing…
Nobody likes a know it all (trust me).
And that is why no one listens to your ideas.
Because you know it all, you know the solution.
But no one will follow a vision that he or she is not part of the vision and will become disengaged. Many of my clients have a problem with retention & overall engagement for this very problem. But what if all this changed for you?
