10 Ways To Sell With Confidence [Warning: This Is More Fun Than It Sounds]

I believe selling starts and ends with confidence. When you sell with confidence you’re saying you believe in what you’re selling, you believe in YOU!

To make sure I am confident I step outside of my comfort zone regularly. This pic is of me last week Friday (7th April) at my 2nd burlesque show where I created my own routine and performed in front of strangers.
I would NEVER have performed burlesque before.

? I used to be the girl that would listen to a partner who told her to go change because according to him what she was wearing didn’t look good.

? I would be the girl that would be in tears if a pitch meeting went bad. I would be the girl that would go out with douches that would say if you lost a little bit of weight you would be a 10.

? Now I’m that girl that is grateful for the people that she has met, that have left and are coming into her life.

? I am the girl that fails forward but loves herself regardless. The girl that has generated over £120 million pounds in new business sales for companies like Epson, HP and Expedia group. So my question to you is…

? Who are you? What are you doing to step outside of your comfort zone and generate more confidence?

Here are my 10 tips to sell with confidence so you can start answering this question:

1. Sell with Confidence by getting your mindset right

This starts from the morning routine to the night time routine, it starts with setting intentions for the day to supporting those intentions with self-talk interrogation, to positive affirmations

2. Sell with Confidence By Creating & Following a Plan

Take inspired action with a plan that fits your lifestyle – There is no point in following someone else’s plan because that will lead to burnout. There are 8 ways to stay productive and 5 things we should avoid that are essential for our plans to be fulfilled. 4. Sell with Confidence with Positioning 

Position yourself as an expert and get more visible.  You’re an expert when you decide you’re an expert. From posting engaging posts, getting your brand out there and being seen as a thought leader, be seen + heard.

5. Use proven sales processes and do daily sales activities 

Some people mistake activity with progress. They believe if they are interacting on someone’s meme then they are building a relationship that may lead to sales. That is hope marketing.  There is no point implementing a marketing plan that doesn’t lead to SALES. You can’t make SALES without marketing because without marketing you’re invisible. You’ve heard it all before, I hear you. But all this MARKETING you are doing is supposed to do one thing. MARKETING is supposed to start an ideal SALES conversation. Marketing helps your ideal customer to know, like & trust you, if you are doing it right.

6. Sell with Confidence by Adding Value

Create premium offers – to transform your ideal client’s life.  Help them at where they are at, not where you want them to be. Regardless add value to the world.

7. Get uncomfortable and take more inspired action

sell with confidenceIt’s easier to do the things that we can do in our sleep. These things come easy to us so sure, why would we not do it? Our lives truly begin when we live in the #uncomfortzone. Do that live stream, even though no one is watching (because someone is always watching). Create an event, talk at an event, either way do something! Live outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself by participating in community challenges which will help you to gain the skills of learning by doing in your business and increase your overall confidence levels ✊

 

 

8. Sell with Confidence by inspiring your ideal clients

Your ideal clients will hire you for the energy you bring. If every business is selling the same solution but the only thing that sets them apart is the energy they are bringing, then surely we are not buying based on logic. We are buying because of emotions. Think about how you’re showing up.

9. Bring in new leads that you can nurture on a regular basis

10. Sell with Confidence By Being Persistent

Do you know how many times I have tried something that wasn’t fruitful? Confident isn’t about taking action because you are guaranteed to succeed, it is taking action regardless of the outcome. You are one step away from success!

Fear Shall Not Win!

Are you letting fear win?

Maybe it’s time to be unapologetic about wanting more….

🤨  What if there was something you wanted so badly that you stopped at nothing to get it.

🤨  Imagine if you woke up every morning and went to bed every night totally obsessed with making it happen.

🤨  Imagine if you didn’t get it?

🤨  Would you stop going for it?

I was reminded today that fear stopped me from leaving an abusive relationship for years. It wasn’t the fear of being alone, but the financial implications, being homeless if I left. More importantly, my kids being homeless if I left.

So I left, I became homeless, we became homeless.

But guess what, it was the best decision I had ever made.

Don’t stop, you are closer than you think to having, everything you’ve ever imagined.
Don’t let fear stop you from getting what you want! Don’t let little words like fear, guilt, doubt or even the word no stop you from living a big life.

Don’t give that word so much much power that you hate it so much, that it stops you from what you’ve imagined your life could be,  be unapologetic about your life, about what YOU want!

The first step in making a change, is making a decision to change.

Sales Belief, Are Your Beliefs Stopping You?

I wasn’t selling because my sales beliefs kept my vision blurry.

What are sales beliefs?

In a nutshell sales beliefs are the beliefs you have around selling.

These beliefs are your truths.

How you see the world.

My lack of sales belief, or belief that I can sell my value was the only reason as to why I didn’t sell daily.

My own sales beliefs had a huge positive impact on my sales performance in one area.

But equally had a very negative impact in another.

 
? I did not believe that my sales funnels worked or making sales online was easy
 
? I definitely did not believe in myself
 
? I did not believe that people listened to me
 
I was not selling because I really didn’t believe in what I was selling?
 
Everyone loved that I had a mission and I stood for something great, I would add value to people’s businesses and lives, but I would never ask for the sale.
 
I was not selling intentionally. I was relying on referrals because I didn’t believe in what I was selling! I thought the work I was doing should be for free, after all I know this stuff, it comes easy to me, why should I charge? 
 

How my own sales beliefs stopped me in my social good business

 
When I started Dyslexic Success I had a vision of a peer to peer network of people with dyslexia that would help each other be successful.
 
My vision was to inspire equip those with neurodiversity’s (AKA learning disabilities).
Because I believe no man woman or child should be born into poverty or social exclusion because of their neurodiversity. 
 
Initially, I was super excited.
I managed to gather over 80 highly intelligent minds which grew to 500 people in less than a year.
I couldn’t wait to promote the next event to help people to get people upskilled in public speaking, sales, marketing & web design.
 
My vision was for them to learn skills and then sell their skills.
Having a clear pathway for success would help my own son with autism know what is possible.
 
I had to battle against partners and customers that wouldn’t pay for the work, I had done on time or pay at all.  
Unsurprisingly along the way, my vision got blurred. Coupled with my insecurities of inadequacies as a newly diagnosed dyslexic, I entered overwhelm.
 
My doubts made me let others dictate the narrative and turn my vision into something else.
It wasn’t my vision.
I no longer believed in what I set out to do.
My vision had gotten blurred, I needed specs (aka a new presepctive) to see what was going on.
 

What Changed In Order To Shift My Sales Beliefs?

 
Acceptance & forgiveness: I accepted full responsibility for my sales beliefs which included entertaining people that were not on the same page as my vision. Lesson learnt: only when you process what happened and accept & forgive yourself for the part you played can you move on
Visions were daily: I went back to my original vision to solidify my positive sales beliefs. Lesson learnt: as Jobs said you can only connect the dots looking back, not looking forward. My strategy changed but my vision remained the same. I reminded myself about my vision every single day, a vision isn’t a set it and forget it activity. 
Intentions were my new best friend: I was intentional daily when it came to delivering that vision. Lesson learnt: setting intentions is a must to keep focused.
I became unapologetic: The difference this time was that I was not asking for permission. Lesson learnt: I started talking from a place of authority, power not lack & meekness.
 

What Can You Do To Change Your Sales Belief Mindset?

Step 1: Ask questions of yourself…

? Is it time to focus on people that deserve your attention?

 
? What are you allowing to happen day to day (no one can make you think things, you have to allow them)?
 

?  What do you need to do daily so your vision is never blurred?

 

Step 2: Speak over your life with intention.
 
Here is my I AM sales belief statement.
 
I AM here to help you to Get More Sales, selling your value, the transformation you bring is what I believe is going to help impact the world.
What is your new sales belief?
I didn’t sell £120 million pounds worth of new business when I was selling to corporates just by luck, it was because I believed! So if you believe in what you are selling. If you believe in your vision, you will sell without thinking you’re being salesy! FYI salesy is not even a word.
 
So make sure that you are selling your vision, not someone else’s version of it.
 
It’s your constant vision and the sales belief that comes with it that will totally change your sales game and the world!

? But when I transitioned from offline to online the numbers were near to nothing. So I had to go back to the drawing board and really reverse engineer my processes that led to my success offline.
? The consistent processes that worked for me included taking the offline team and replacing them with robots.Yes, robots. ?
?OK, maybe nothing as cool as robots but technology that would do the same thing as my delightful past colleagues were paid to do (at the fraction of the cost).

Why do I even need a Sales Funnel?

If you are anything like me, you would normally outsource tasks that you don’t like. Or learn how to do it and do it all yourself until you have the funds available to outsource or recruit an employee.
While you’re transitioning to the stage of generating a consistent income, you’re going to be in the delightful stage of feast or famine.

? I don’t want you to go through the feast or famine I went through, so I want to share with you, my process for setting up processes that make an offline team redundant. Processes sound really boring, but believe me they are so exciting, productive and really effective.

Never settle for bad lemonade!

I was pregnant at 19 years old. Something mother dearest didn’t approve of so I was subsequently made homeless…fast forward 11 years later when I am not happy in my marriage and I tell my husband I need a break, husband dearest wasn’t impressed so he kicks me and our children out.

When I moved into a new place my friend of 18 years needed somewhere to stay so I let her. My landlord didn’t like that and said I had to kick her out (she had nowhere to go so I said no).

I got kicked out.
I noticed a pattern had emerged, every time I did something somebody else didn’t like they will use their power to try and control me. I don’t blame any of these people for their decision I have learnt to forgive them and more importantly myself.
Why myself? Well, I had to take personal responsibility for my decisions.
So I came to a cross roads thinking about my life decisions.

How does someone who is savvy enough to work for corporates and make 7 figures for them get into a mess like this?

I had a choice…do I get angry, depressed at my current situation? Or do I get my s*** together.
Needless to say, I chose the latter.
I started to volunteer at the homeless shelter, even though I was sharing one room and one bed in a hostel. I knew I could still be grateful I had one room and kids that I loved more than life itself.

In my time of homelessness and self-discovery I found out my son was autistic (at the age of 11 it was pretty late).

Then I found out I was dyslexic (at the age of 30 plus I think you would agree it was mega late).

I do not know if the universe was playing a trick on me because weeks prior I was speaking to a homeless guest and he told me lots of people are dyslexic and homeless.

Nevertheless, I created a local meetup group to meet other dyslexics so we could learn from our wins and losses and 80 people came, I guess they wanted the same thing too.

I then created my mission-driven business which focused on helping people with dyslexia, autism etc to learn digital skills and work as freelancers in my digital business. Then I created a business to help coach mission-driven business owners who needed confidence in sales. I decided I wasn’t going to let my circumstances reduce me, even if they have changed me.

When I was homeless, the first, second and third time ?

I realised a lot about my homelessness was about lemons.

Me settling for lemons instead of demanding more from life.

We all make choices and there are consequences to these choices.

However, when life hands you lemons you can either create really bad lemonade or throw those lemons back at life with a heck no…and say I ordered champagne darling!

What Are You Selling? #seriousquestion

We are selling a belief, a value, a feeling, a transformation, formed in a product or service

Sometimes we have an amazing product

But no one knows it exists

Sometimes this product can change the world

But no one knows it exists

So you can try many things to help increase the traffic to our websites, social media profiles etc.

But there is no point implementing any of these strategies if nobody knows what you are selling

You need to know what you’re selling…yes what is it, how can I buy it etc are the logical things that go into that puzzle.

But a more important part of the puzzle is that we are not selling a product!

We are not selling a product or service

This is what I am selling.

I believe that we should be contributors not just consumers of this world.

I believe in order to see everyone in our world thrive not just survive we must help each other. I believe entrepreneurs who are mission-driven, who know their purpose do this.

I help mission-driven entrepreneurs to get confident selling their value so they can have a sustainable business.

Often times people that have created these heart-centered purposeful world-changing businesses know how to deliver to their beneficences with their eyes closed.

But these same entrepreneurs struggle with selling their businesses to gain investment and struggle to gain sales from corporates or to know how to be commercially successful.

I believe in people that want to help to change the world.

I never made a sale selling a product

All of my previous big wins have been people I have connected with that get what I do, I rarely followed up with people and I managed to close business five to seven figure business. Why? Because I knew what I was selling.

I wasn’t selling SaaS, I was selling control, control of spending, freedom of time

I wasn’t selling large format printers I was selling a way to see your work in printed format in all it’s colourful glory

I wasn’t selling food I was selling convenience, quality
